Usability means:
The extent to which a product can
be used by specified users to achieve specified
goals with
effectiveness, efficiency
and
satisfaction in a
specified context of use
[ISO 9241-11]. Usability can not be evaluated on
the product -
only in the situation of use that depends on users’
values in culture, context, time and situation.
Usability has partly to do with the properties of
the product, but even more with the process of
design and use.
Functionality means:
Those
practical
effects derived from the
physical properties of a
product that might result in usability in certain
situations for certain users. Functionality can be
evaluated on the product.
